"Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."
Harold Whitman
Sometimes, when I talk to professional women, you tell me about the gap in your life:
Seem familiar?
And yet, there are so many opportunities today. And access to ideas, entertainment and goods from all over the planet. There is even guilt sometimes about wanting "more".
Do any of these seem like they may be a part of the problem?
So where can you find an answer?
Well, the media would have you believe that it's a better house, "THE" job, another pair of shoes, that "must-have" mobile phone, the latest fashions, a new car ...etc... Now, there's nothing intrinsically wrong with wanting these things, but, they can be a distraction.
Deep down, you know that the "more" you are looking for is not more "stuff".
When you're searching for more meaning, more fulfilment, or more purpose, you need to look inside, not outside.
A more useful place to start than "What do I want" is "What matters to me?" and "What can I offer?"
Fulfillment means coming alive, being full of juice, flowing. Living an inspired life. This is an abundant world - when you put your attention on the people and things that matter.
