Feeling Calm, Clear and Connected

How you're feeling now

Is stress a semi-permanent feature in your life? Have you been living in "fast-forward" mode?

Stress seems to be an inevitable component of modern living. The fact that stress management is a billion dollar industry suggests many professionals have bought into the myth that stress is unavoidable. And, that it's a pre-requisite for success.

In fact, anytime you're not feeling particularly stressed, you may even wonder why not - perhaps you should be working harder, or striving more?

It's tempting (and common) to think of the opposite of stress to be "relaxation". And relaxation exercises are often prescribed to help manage stress.

That's fine, so far as it goes. But you may already have realised that just managing stress isn't really enough.

What's needed is a way of transforming how you feel on a permanent basis. A way to thrive rather than just survive!

What happens when, instead of thinking about managing your stress, you imagine being calm, clear and connected to the people and things that really matter?

The Results Agency Stress Transformation Process

Awareness Exercise: To what extent have you been using "stress" as a convenient catch-all word...?
What other words do you use in this way (e.g. fed-up)?

Stage 1: Hitting the Pause Button

If you've been feeling stressed most of the time, then you may have struggled to make the changes you know you need to resolve the situation. Constant stress can be such a drain on your resources that even deciding what needs to change can feel like a huge challenge. Whole Life Coaching can provide the extra ingredients (time, space, focus, heart-centering,...) you need.

Stage 1 concentrates on A) pausing the negative spiral of stress, and B) taking stock.

Stage 2: Dealing with Stress

Once the situation has stabilised, we can start to identify and address the underlying issues, and get you out of survival mode.

Stage 2 deals with exactly that.  Here are some of the things you might work on: A) developing your personal "va-va-voom", B) establishing good habits, and C) re-aligning your life according to your values. As always, this process is personally tailored around you...and is backed up by careful planning and tracking to support your progress.

Stage 3: Appreciating Stress

So are you on your way to a "stress-free" existence? Well...,...probably not. Like any other kind of pain, stress is a natural warning mechanism.

Stage 3 is about putting in place the checks and balances that will enable you to use this valuable mechanism to support you, rather than allowing it to run your life! Learning to attend to, and even appreciate "stress" is the unique, key stage that will make the difference for you, long term.

Transforming surviving into thriving doesn't mean that you can't choose to have a busy life, or that you won't be successful.

By calming, clearing and connecting, you'll find that the frantic modern world doesn't have to equate to a frantic you.

Hesitating? When you're stressed out, doing anything different can seem really tough. It doesn't have to be this hard......

**Note: One of the places in which "stress" is useful shorthand is in the term 'Post Traumatic Stress Disorder' (PTSD). This is a recognised medical term for a range of symptoms experienced after (and as a result of) a traumatic incident (or incidents). This is a real and potentially debilitating disorder. If you suspect that you may be suffering from PTSD, please do seek help from your GP, or a suitably qualified health professional.
